Our Mission
Established in 2008, Madras Mechanical Institute (MMI) is India's first ISO 9001:2008 Certified institute specializing in EV Technology, Two-Wheeler Mechanics, and Lithium-Ion Battery Servicing. Recognized by NSDC, Skill India, ASDC and TNSDC. Over 500 students trained and placed across Tamil Nadu.
Who We Train
We serve three focused groups — ITI & Diploma Students (18–25) seeking job-ready EV skills, Working Mechanics (25–40) looking to upskill for the EV revolution, and Entrepreneurs (30–45) who want to launch their own EV service workshop.
MMI Institute of Thought
In India, over 270 million two-wheelers are on the road. Yet 50% of vehicle owners lack access to a proper, skilled service center. At the same time, 30% of engineering and ITI graduates remain unemployed — not because of lack of effort, but lack of the right, practical skills.
MMI was founded in 2008 to close this gap. In collaboration with the Education and Vocational Training Revolution Trust (E.I.T.R Trust), we provide industry-focused, hands-on training that turns students into skilled technicians and confident entrepreneurs.
In our India, 30% of graduates are unemployed. On one hand, there is a huge job opportunity, on the other hand, there is unemployment. We can go on and on innumerable fields like this. The primary objective of The Madras Mechanical Institute is to address this critical need gap.
